Photography was never about cameras for me.

In fact, when I first started, I’d often leave my camera on Program Mode. It wasn’t because I was fascinated by camera settings or technical perfection. It was because my focus was always on the person standing in front of me.

People have always been my passion.

Long before photography became my career, I discovered that what I loved most was connecting with people. Listening to their stories. Seeing their personality. Helping them feel comfortable enough to simply be themselves.

Photography became the tool that allowed me to preserve those moments.

As the founder of Little Adults Academy & Modelling Agency, established in 1997, I’ve had the privilege of photographing over 5,000 aspiring and professional models. Working with so many people taught me something invaluable: every person has something beautiful about them. My role has never been to change who you are. My role is simply to help you see what I already see.

When I founded Donna Benjamin Photography in 2001, that philosophy never changed.

Yes, over the years I’ve learnt the technical side of photography. I’ve developed my understanding of lighting, composition and the craft behind creating beautiful images. But none of that has ever been the reason I pick up a camera.

I pick up my camera because of people.

Today, I specialise in weddings, children’s photography and model portfolios, but my approach is always the same.

If I’m photographing your wedding, I want to capture the love you’ve spent months planning and the emotion you’ll remember forever.

If I’m photographing your child, I want to capture their personality, confidence and the little expressions that make them uniquely them.

If I’m creating your portfolio, I want you to see yourself in a way you may never have seen before—with confidence, authenticity and pride.

This has never been about me taking photographs.

It’s about you.

It’s about your memories.

Every photograph represents a moment that can never be recreated, and I consider it a privilege to preserve those moments with honesty, warmth and care.
